P & A Wood Apprentice wins prestigious award at The Worshipful Company of Coachmakers Annual Automotive Dinner

P & A Wood were delighted to attend the annual Coachmakers Automotive dinner on Thursday 21st March where apprentice for the company, Billy Strutt, collected the award for the Bentley Motors Heritage Apprentice of the Year Award.

Billys personal statement reads:

‘Throughout my time at P & A Wood I have been lucky enough to be part of numerous large and important projects. These ranging from the build-up process of a Bentley S1 which attended the Pebble Beach Concours last year and was awarded second in its class. To more recently being heavily involved in a total engine restoration for a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith. I have also been lucky enough to have the opportunity to represent the company at many events such as Goodwood Revival, The Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club Annual Rally and The Bentley Drivers Club annual events. I have also been selected to host tours at P & A Wood. These events allow me to further my confidence and engage with customers and the general public, sharing my knowledge and expressing mine and the company’s ethos of ‘attention to detail’.
As an individual I pride myself on upholding the values and skill set which I have learnt throughout my time at P & A Wood. I am proud to be part of a company which allows me to produce the finest work to the highest standard and I look forward to furthering my abilities in the future, particularly within engine rebuilds which is an area I would like to specialise in.’

Georgina Wood (Managing Director and Member of the Coachmakers Livery), Louise Wood (Operations Manager) and Ryan Lugg (Rolls-Royce Brand Manager) were all in attendance to witness Billy receive his very much deserved award.
